History

 

Once upon a time, not so long ago, Holts Village was just a field, a lot of it still is, a farmhouse and a taddy pond with the biggest frogs in the north of England. Then came development and a council housing development was planned. The first sod was turned in 1954, and the first houses were erected on Course View. Work progressed rapidly as more houses were built and the Village was finally completed in 1958. It is a long way from the frogs in the taddy pond, but if you had seen Holts a few years ago compared to the Village as it is today, it makes us proud to live in a Village that is moving forward.
